This folder contains three series of EnergyPlus and Matlab models and scripts.

The EnergyPlus C_100 series: The EnergyPlus implementation of the Task 56 reference office, for analysing loads at space demand level, for all three climates.
	- The TRNSYS weather data was converted to the EPW file format.
	- Automated solar shading control, ventilation frost protection, and humidistat control using absolute humidity concentrations are implemented using EMS programs.
	- Monthly sensible and latent energy balances are computed from EnergyPlus outputs using a Matlab post-processing script. These balances are saved in a series of Excel files.

The EnergyPlus D_204 series: A framework for sensitivity analyses, or full factorial optimisation, using EnergyPlus and Matlab. A design space is created and a template IDF is edited and run for each entry. The same design space is used to load all results in a post-processing script.
	- makeDesignSpaceGlzngPrpStudy: There is one script that creates a design space. This defines every unique simulation alternative you want to simulate.
	- There is one makeAndRun script. This loads the design space. For each entry in the design space it will open a template IDF, copy it and replace certain input parameters with design space information. In then runs each EnergyPlus simulation using parallel batches.
	- There is one post-processing script. This script loads the design space, reads the simulation outputs of each alternative and plots this in graphs.
	- The script can be run using parallel processing or regular processing in series.
	- In using the parallel processing capabalities it is adviced to copy the following files from your EnergyPlus installation directory to the template folder:
		Energy+.idd
		energyplus.exe
		EPMacro.exe
		ExpandObjects.exe
		libexpat.dll
		ReadVarsESO.exe
Set the runMode input to 'parallel' inside the makeAndRun script.

The EnergyPlus F_300 Matlab series: The EnergyPlus/Matlab implementation of the Task 56 reference office with an air-to-air heatpump and facade integrated PV.
	- The same models are used in C_100 with some minor changes.
	- For Stockholm, a humidity buffer was included.
	- The air-to-air heatpump and PV systems are implemented in Matlab. This Matlab script computes final (site) electricity consumption from EnergyPlus energy demand outputs using a set of heat pump performance maps (from a detailed simulink UNIBO simulation) and PV inverter efficiency curves.
	- Additionally, self consumption and energy matching indicators are computed within the Matlab script.

The IDFs in this folder where made for EnergyPlus version 8.5. To update the IDFs to the most recent EnergyPlus version use the transition version tool that is installed with EnergyPlus
